Every intake at Coastal Cats & Critters begins with medical care, safety planning, and a commitment to lifelong dignity — and our intake fees help cover only a portion of that ongoing care.

Feral Yard

The Feral Yard intake fee is $400, which helps cover a portion of the medical care, safety planning, and daily support each feral-born cat receives as they transition into sanctuary life. For urgent situations requiring same‑day stabilization or veterinary care, the emergency intake fee is $800, reflecting the intensive resources needed to safely protect and place these cats. Both fees support their move into a secure, enriched outdoor environment designed specifically for feral cats who cannot thrive in traditional homes.

Legacy House

The Legacy Program intake fee is $2,000, supporting the lifelong care of cats whose families can no longer provide for them due to illness, aging, or passing. This fee contributes to medical oversight, enriched living spaces, daily care routines, and the stability these cats depend on. It ensures every Legacy cat receives the same dignity, comfort, and continuity they’ve always known — now carried forward by the sanctuary.

FELV Sanctuary

Intake into our FELV Sanctuary is handled through individual discussion, as FELV‑positive cats face the greatest challenges in finding safe placement. Their care requires specialized medical monitoring, protected housing, and long-term planning to ensure they can live full, peaceful lives. Because each case is unique, intake fees are determined based on the cat’s needs and the resources required to support them.

Feral Intake Criteria

Feral cats must meet specific criteria before intake, because the sanctuary can only accept those who truly cannot remain where they are. To qualify, a feral cat must have a medical reason that makes their current location unsafe, or they must be in active danger from people, construction, displacement, or other human‑driven threats. Situations like natural predators, normal wildlife activity, or general outdoor risk do not qualify for intake. Our priority is protecting ferals who have no other safe option, ensuring that limited sanctuary space goes to the cats facing the most urgent and unavoidable danger.
